Worum geht es in Queen of the South?
Für Teresa Mendoza soll sich eines Tages alles ändern, als ihr Freund, ein Drogenkurier, ermordet aufgefunden wird. Hals über Kopf lässt sie ihre Heimat, Mexiko, hinter sich und flieht in die USA. In Dallas, Texas, angekommen will sie sich eine neue Existenz aufbauen, rutscht jedoch schnell in die Kriminalität ab. Um sich vor den Mördern ihres Freundes in Sicherheit zu bringen, muss Teresa einige strategische Bündnisse mit der Unterwelt eingehen und findet schnell heraus, wie die Hierarchien in der Drogenschmuggel-Szene verteilt sind. Dabei trifft Teresa auch auf die erbarmungslose Kartell-Chefin Camila Vargas die sich als unerbittliche Konkurrentin offenbart.
