Di cosa parla Blade of the Immortal?
La morte violenta dei genitori di Rin, unica erede del dojo della scuola Muten-ichiryu, per mano di Anotsu Kagehisa e dei suoi uomini più fidati, esponenti di spicco della scuola dell'Itto-ryu, fanno nascere nella ragazza un'insopprimibile desiderio di vendetta. Per raggiungere questo scopo, chiede aiuto a Manji, un ronin reo di aver ucciso il suo signore e altri cento samurai. Manji è un samurai immortale grazie alla presenza nel suo corpo del verme Kessen-chu, che un'anziana monaca gli donò per salvarlo dalla morte. Questo verme è in grado di rimarginare qualsiasi ferita, ma si scoprirà più avanti che anch'esso ha qualche falla...
