Nel 2016, dopo la morte di Glenn Frey, gli Eagles si sono interrotti quando Don Henley ha deciso che la band non avrebbe più suonato. Tuttavia, Henley ha annullato la sua decisione ed è stato annunciato nel marzo 2017 che gli Eagles si sarebbero esibiti in due festival con gruppi rock classici organizzati dal loro manager Irving Azoff, a partire dal festival The Classic West tenutosi al Dodger Stadium nel luglio dello stesso anno. Henley ha portato il figlio di Frey, Deacon, per esibirsi con i restanti membri degli Eagles in questi spettacoli dopo aver visto Deacon eseguire le canzoni di Glenn Frey al suo servizio funebre.
