Legend of the Galactic Heroesのあらすじ
遥か未来、宇宙に進出した人類は銀河系を二分する社会体制を構築していた。片や専制政治で統治された銀河帝国、そしてそれに対するは民主政治を敷いている自由惑星同盟である。この二国間は150年余の長きに渡り戦争状態にあったが、この停滞した状況に風穴を開けるべき逸材がほぼ同時に双方の軍にて頭角を現した。貴族社会を憎み自らが頂点たらんとする野望を抱く帝国軍のラインハルトと、卓越した用兵術を度々披露しながら本人は戦争嫌いという同盟軍のヤンである。この両雄の周囲にそれぞれ異才が集結し、やがて互いの国家の存亡を懸けた戦いが始まった！
