ドラマ「金田一少年の事件簿」は1995年の初放送からメガヒットを記録し、幅広い世代の支持を得てシリーズを積み重ねてきた謎解きミステリードラマの金字塔。 原作「金田一少年の事件簿」も、週刊少年マガジン（講談社）での連載開始から今年で30周年を迎える。日本のみならず、海外でも圧倒的な支持を集め、世界（12か国）累計で1億部を超える発行部数を記録するなど、世界市場でファンを抱えるメガヒット原作である。 この新シリーズは、数多のエピソードの中から選りすぐりのエピソードを現代の視点で再構築。日本ならではの呪いや怪談を題材にしたミステリーをシリーズ史上最大のスケールで贈る、これぞ“金田一少年”の決定版といえる内容となっている。 そして主役金田一一はじめを演じるのは、道枝駿佑（なにわ男子）。これまでに、堂本剛（1995年/1996年）、松本潤(2001年)、亀梨和也（2005年）、山田涼介（2013年/2014年）と繋がれてきたバトンを受け取り5代目金田一を襲名する。
