Waar gaat Pennyworth over?
Londen, de jaren 60. Alfred Pennyworth is een voormalige Britse SAS-soldaat die onlangs de strijdkrachten heeft verlaten en een beveiligingsbedrijf begint. Het bureau trekt de aandacht van een jonge Amerikaanse miljardair genaamd Thomas Wayne. In de daaropvolgende jaren ontstaat er een hechte vriendschap tussen Alfred en Thomas en Alfred wordt uiteindelijk de verzorger van diens zoon, Bruce, nadat hij is vermoord.
