Waar gaat The Island of Giant Insects over?
Studenten van de Hosho Academy High School zaten aan boord van een vliegtuig toen het onder mysterieuze omstandigheden landde. De heldin, Oribe Mutsumi en haar klasgenoten spoelen aan land op een eiland. De overlevende passagiers besluiten te wachten op hulp, maar het eiland blijkt bewoond te zijn door gigantische insecten. Mutsumi wordt wakker op een strand en vindt haar klasgenoot Matsuo Ayumi en samen gaan ze op zoek naar voedsel. In de overtuiging dat er binnen drie dagen hulp zal komen, besluiten ze tot die tijd te volharden.
