Waar gaat The Private Life of Plants over?
Zonder planten zou er geen voedsel zijn, geen dieren van welke aard dan ook, helemaal geen leven op aarde. Toch blijft hun leven voor ons meestal geheim, verborgen, privé-gebeurtenissen. De reden is slechts een verschil in tijd. Planten leven op een andere tijdschaal dan de onze. Hoewel ze met het blote oog niet duidelijk zijn, zijn ze voortdurend in beweging: ze ontwikkelen, vechten, vermijden of exploiteren roofdieren of buren, worstelen om voedsel te vinden, hun territorium te vergroten, zichzelf voort te planten, een plaats onder de zon te vinden en te behouden. We hoeven alleen maar te leren kijken.
