Het Nederlandse koloniale leger in West-Java organiseert een vechtsporttoernooi om de beste krijger te selecteren om de strijd aan te gaan met de lokale vrijheidsstrijder Parmin (bijgenaamd Jaka Sembung). De winnaar is een obscure blinde zwaardvechter en de Nederlandse commandant De Mandes (Gino Makasutji) geeft hem de opdracht. De zwaardvechter staat echter sympathiek tegenover de zaak van Jaka Sembung en de zaken worden ingewikkelder wanneer de goochelaar-verleidster Dewi Magi en haar goeroe (WD Mochtar) namens de Nederlanders tussenbeide komen.
