Hitomi Kanzaki é a personagem principal, uma garota que integra a equipe de atletismo de sua escola e que, nas horas vagas, faz leituras de tarô para as colegas. Numa noite, enquanto realizava uma tomada de tempo na pista de atletismo, Hitomi começa a ter visões e o intrigante pingente rosa que carrega no pescoço reage de maneira violenta, abrindo um contato entre a Terra e Gaia, um outro planeta. Hitomi acaba sendo transportada à Gaia, e entra em contato com uma realidade completamente diferente da Terra, um mundo em guerra no qual tecnologia e costumes medievais andam lado a lado.
