东京都立程久保高中二年级的少女川岛南，去看住院的好友宫田夕纪，决定代替已住院的夕纪，帮忙加入棒球部当经理。其个人宣言鲁莽，她一心想带着棒球部打进甲子园。但平日全是看而不做，不知怎样才好时，在书店内误拿了一本美国管理学大师彼得·德鲁克（Peter Drucker）1973年著作的管理学入门书《管理：任务、责任、实践》（Management: Tasks, Responsibilities, Practices）。《管理》里面写的是企业经营和组织论的本质工作。南看完《管理的使命、实务与责任》，深受感动，决定采用其书内的人事管理模式，思考着顾客的定义、市场、管理学及创新的重要性，将其管理知识运用在棒球部内的管理改革上，一步步把棒球部重新架构。南的棒球部管理现在开始，并带领着球队前往朝甲子园迈进……。

As the team celebrate their victory, Minami has a vision of seeing Yuki, remembering all the good times they shared together. With the memories of Yuki in their hearts, the team moves on to the nationals, hoping to play baseball the way the customers want.
